Patient Experience
At The Dental Practice in Bathurst we use a range of current technologies to help complete our treatments in the most effective, efficient way possible. Below we have outlined some of the most important equipment that we use and a little of how it helps benefit you and facilitate your treatment.
OPG (Orthopantomogram)
The OPG is often referred to as a Dental Panoramic Radiograph (DPR) and is a device that produces highly accurate panoramic scans of the upper and lower jaws so we can have a complete overview of how everything in your mouth fits and works together. The OPG represents a huge asset at our practice in diagnosis, treatment planning and patient education.
Low Dose, Digital X-Rays
Low dose digital x-rays have surpassed previously used film x-rays as they are safer, more accurate and more efficient. With the results viewed almost instantaneously the overhead screen low dose, digital x-rays also use 90% less radiation than film ones.
Cone Beam CT Scan
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Your doctor may use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
