The Dental Practice Bathurst is made up of a dynamic, friendly and knowledgeable team who assist our experienced dentists in providing the very best of dental care to our patients. Our staff are well trained in all areas of dentistry and are more than happy to discuss any of your dental needs and options.
The Dental Practice, Bathurst also has access to specialist dental services in oral surgery and prosthodontics via visiting specialist colleagues.
Dr Mark Sinclair (B.D.S)
Dr Mark Sinclair has been involved as principal dentist at the Dental Practice in Bathurst since 1982. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1980 where he was elected president of the student body in his final year, he has maintained a profile within the wider profession in various roles. He has overseen the expansion of the practice to include other dentists and visiting specialists which provide a truly multi-discplinary approach to patient care.
In 2002 Dr Sinclair graduated in Law from Macquarie University and in 2006 was admitted as a Solicitor by the NSW Supreme Court. He has been involved in providing numerous lectures and teaching programs, both on a state and national basis in connection with clinical dentistry especially involving risk management for the whole dental team. In 2009, Dr Sinclair was elected president of the NSW Branch of the Australian Dental Association. This body represents the largest group of practising dentists in Australia. He was re-elected in 2010 and 2011. He has held many positions within the NSW Branch and continues to represent the profession on many fronts. He has also been recently appointed to the federal government’s Professional Services Review panel. Mark has remained enthusiastically involved with dentistry and his patients with a special interest in comprehensive care, implant dentistry and practice management.

Dr Tuan Dao BDS (HONS) MDSc (Pros)
In December of 2008, Dr Dao graduated from the University of Sydney receiving a Masters of Dental Science in the specialist field of Prosthodontics. In 2009, he was recognized by the Dental Board of NSW as a registered specialist in the field of Prosthodontics. In July of 2009, Dr Dao was appointed Secretary of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (NSW Branch) and maintains an active role within the professional society. He is also a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Osseointegration Society as well as the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontics.
Dr Dao maintains two part time private practice appointments, in Bathurst and in Sydney. He is also a part time clinical specialist with the Oral Specialist Services at the Westmead Centre of Oral Health in Sydney. He continues to maintain a teaching position, appointed as a Specialist Clinical Assosciate with the University of Sydney, demonstrating Prosthodontics to final year dental students.
Dr Dao’s interests within dentistry include complex treatment including crown and bridge, dentures and implants. He enjoys treating patients and developing a relaxed approach to successful treatments.
Away from work, he enjoys playing sport and travelling overseas and experiencing different cultures.
Dr William Fitzpatrick
Dr Fitzpatrick has been a part of the local community since 1995. He completed his training in the Central West and graduated from Charles Sturt University. Being from the region, his focus is on maintaining and improving the oral health of all those within the community.
Dr Fitzpatrick has a keen interest in all aspects of general dentistry, particularly oral surgery, prosthodontics and restorative treatments. His belief is that everyone can achieve a smile that is functional and one they are confident with.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Fitzpatrick enjoys travelling, playing sport and last but not least his kelpies.
Dr Sanjay Hirekodi (Dentist), BDS, FDSRCS, DGDP, MClinDent (Prosthodontics), MRDRCS
Sanjay qualified in the UK in 1991 and now has over 27 years of clinical experience. He knew from a very early age that he wanted to be a member of the healing profession serving the local community as he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps who was a medical practitioner. Since starting in his dental career, Sanjay has always strived to practice with skill, care and sound judgement and believes in establishing and maintaining long term relationships with patients.
To give his patients the best care, Sanjay believes in keeping professionally up to date and since becoming a dentist has achieved several academic qualifications. He attained a Master In Clinical Dentistry degree in Prosthodontics from the prestigious 'Eastman Dental Institute' in London in 2002, and, having followed the full Prosthodontics training pathway in the UK was on the Specialists Register in the UK while he was practicing there. Sanjay has a substantial interest in providing dental implant treatment and cosmetic dentistry.
Sanjay moved to Bathurst in 2013 and has worked at the practice since then. Sanjay lives locally with his wife and three children and looks forward to working at the the practice for several years to come!
Merryne relocated from Sydney to Bathurst with her two children and pet dog. For many years Merryne worked as a Dental Assistant. There she realised her passion for helping people realise the importance of good oral health.
Completing her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Newcastle, Merryne enjoys all aspects of her role as a Hygienist.
