TMJ Treatment

The TMJ or temporomandibular joint is the connection point from your jaw to your skull which allows you the movement necessary for eating, laughing, talking and more.

However problems can commonly arise with this joint resulting in headaches, back & neck pain, facial pain and stiffness. Often these symptoms are caused by the grinding of our teeth and in many cases this occurs during our sleep so we don’t even realise we are doing it.

One of the ways that we treat TMJ Dysfunction at The Dental Practice in Bathurst is through the implementation of special night guards or splints. These are designed to be worn throughout the night and help to reduce the effects of TMJ Dysfunction by fixing your jaw in the optimal position.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of TMJ Dysfunction contact The Dental Practice in Bathurst to arrange a consultation.
